The Long Eaton & Sawley Archive
Home > Welcome > Time To Remember

This page is dedicated to some of the old buildings, businesses and other well known Long Eaton landmarks that sadly no longer exist, due to modernisation and so called progress in the town. Fortunately this lost heritage can still be found in photographs, and the several books that have been produced about the town over the years. The photographs in this section have been reproduced from a collection in the Long Eaton library and can also be found in the book "Long Eaton In Old Picture Postcards" by John Barker.

Most of the photgraphs below are taken from local historian Keith Reedman's book 'Long Eaton Then & Now'. They are of various scenes of Long Eaton taken in the 19th and 20th centuries. Some of the buildings in the photographs have long been demolished. Photographs not credited to Mr Reedman were acquired from other sources.
