The photographs below show scenes from the Nottinghamshire Steam and Country Show 2003 which was held on West Park on the weekend of June 21st-22nd. The weather for the event was dry and temperatures soared to 22 degrees centigrade on Saturday, and even hotter on Sunday when it reached around 27-28 degrees centigrade. The rain held off until Sunday night after the show had closed, when Long Eaton experienced heavy, thundery rain for most of the night and into Monday morning.

The show itself attracted crowds of people, both local and from further afield, on both days. The beer tent and refreshment areas were very popular as visitors clamoured for liquid refreshment and ice-creams.

There were plenty of attractions for people to see and entertainment for all ages, such as an Old Tyme Funfair and bouncy castle for children, rides on miniature steam engines, large steam engines, Army display with military vehicles, Falconry display, old farm tractors and vintage vehicles from bygone years, a puppet theatre, Shire horses, an activity marquee, Dako Flying Angels, clowns and Auto jumble. The fairground rides included Steam Driven Gallopers. There was also Piston Ring Motor Cycle Display, stage shows, Can-can and Country Line dancing. The entrance fee was £4 for adults and £1 for children with free parking between 10:00am and 5:00pm on both days. At 6:30pm on Saturday evening a grand parade of the steam engines left the site on its way to Long Eaton town centre.
